What Makes Pro Surfboard Resin So Special?

Did you know that UV resins like ours resist fading and yellowing?

They’re also up to three times stronger than standard resins.

…. But, here’s the biggest thing ….

Unlike traditional resins where you add a catalyst, then have a few minutes to make sure you get the resin onto your ding, usually in a panic before it starts to go off. Then you need to wait at least 8 hours with most products before you can sand and finish your repair. This traditionally made all repairs an overnight process.

Not anymore!!!

With the Pro Surfboard Repair formula,it allows you (as long as you’re inside out of the sunlight) to take unlimited time to put your resin on, then once you’re finished and do take it outside into the daylight it goes hard and is ready to sand in about 10 minutes (there is also a special additive in the formula to make it easy to sand).

This means that, with the Pro Surfboard Formula, you can complete your repairs in an approximately an hour (maybe a bit longer if it is a larger repair)and be back out in the water.

Once you have used this product you will never use anything else ever again, its so easy!!!

Don’t Just Take Our Word For It …

Matthew Keys of Surfers Paradise QLD says it all:

“Best way to fix surfboard ever!! Exactly as described. Worked perfectly.”

You get

  • 250ml tin of our special formula solar-activated, easy-sand resin
  • Instructions

But There are Cheaper Products on the Market ..

Yes, there are. And for good reason – You Get What You Pay For!

These tube products are substantially cheaper, but are only ever a temporary solution. They will stop the water getting into your board in the short term, but do NOT repair the damage. It is the full layers of fibreglass that distribute the stresses of surfing throughout your whole board and keep it intact. Any incorrectly repaired ding will leave a weak spot that WILL lead to long term further damage and even have your board snap.

FAQ

I’ve never done a ding repair before. Where do I start?
For the best advice on all aspects of repairing surfboards, you are well advised  to buy a copy of the “Pro Surfboard Repair Secrets Revealed” DVD (separate listing) where everything is shown and explained in detail for you to follow along.

What’s the difference between Poly and Epoxy boards?

1    Traditional Fibreglass (POLY/PU) Surfboard Technology:
Poly or polyester represents a traditional fibreglass surfboard. PU or polyurethane foam is the foam of the traditional fibreglass board. The foam core is laid up with weighted fibreglass cloth and laminated with polyester resin. These types of surfboards have been around since the 1960s.

2.    Epoxy Surfboard Technology (EPOXY/EPS or XPS):
These types of boards are becoming more prevalent and use polystyrene foam (two different types – EPS and XPS), both of which are coated with fibreglass cloth and epoxy resin.

Does the Pro Surfboard Repair Resin work with both types?
The Pro Surfboard Repair Resin is for is for traditional Poly/PU boards. It has a special solar activated polyester resin that makes repairs much simpler than standard catalyst activated polyester resins.

How long will the resin last in storage?

When stored properly, the resin should last at least six months from date of manufacture. The “Best Before Date” is marked on the bottom of the can. It is important that the resin should not be exposed to sunlight whilst still in the can, or it WILL go hard. It should also be kept cool. This means things like not storing in a hot garden shed, don’t leave it in your car or next to a north or west facing wall. Excessive exposure to heat will reduce its shelf life.
